Professor emeritus 'centers' new book on examining literary patterns

Building upon his long career in literary research and education at Penn State 杜波依斯, Richard Kopley, distinguished professor of English emeritus, has spent his time in retirement breaking new ground in the study of literature. His latest book, “The Formal Center in Literature: Explorations from Poe to the Present,” examines previously undiscovered and undiscussed structures in composition that are used by some of recent history’s most notable authors in various works.

Penn State 杜波依斯’ Associate Professor of Economics Evelyn Wamboye has been invited by the British Broadcasting Corporation to share her expertise on economic issues in Africa. She will take part in a broadcast interview to be aired Dec. 5, for the BBC’s “Focus on Africa” radio program, to discuss how African countries can create employment for their booming populations.

教师 member tapped for international study with 日本ese Space Agency

Penn State 杜波依斯 Associate Professor of Mathematics and Geoscience Neyda阿伯 has earned the opportunity of a lifetime. She has been invited to join an international research team with the 日本ese Space Agency (JAXA) to analyze material collected from asteroids during space missions. Abreu described the opportunity, 说, “I have just been given the chance to touch a thread in the fabric of the universe.”

Retired professor honored for career achievements by Poe Studies Association

One of Penn State 杜波依斯’ retired faculty members continues to receive accolades for his career accomplishments. Distinguished Professor of English Emeritus Richard Kopley was recently presented with the Lifetime Achievement and Service Award by the Poe Studies Association at the 2018 International Poe and Hawthorne Conference in Kyoto, 日本.

Engineering student's research garners international attention

For the second time during his student career in the Penn State 杜波依斯 Engineering program, Kyle Bear has had a research article published in a top industry magazine. Having heard of Bear's research in powder metal production processes, editors from "Thermal Processing" reached out to Bear and asked if he could pen an article for them with updates on his progress. His initial article appeared in the American Welding Society's Welding Journal in May of 2017.
